| Puppy Purchase Information |
| Ivorymoon's goal is to produce healthy, well-tempered Ridgebacks. Being sound in body and mind are the key characteristics that allow a Ridgeback to excel in any role. While we strive to breed exceptional show and performance Ridgebacks, the most important role of any Ridgeback is that of beloved, family pet. So we don't just carefully plan our litters, we also carefully match our puppies with their new families. |

| All Ivorymoon puppies are sold on contract. This is a legally binding agreement that's primary function is to protect the welfare of the puppy. The contract does this by identifying the rights and responsibilities of both the breeder (Ivorymoon) and the new owner. The main aspects of the contract are highlighted below. |

| Guarantees: *Ivorymoon guarantees the health of our puppies completely at the time of purchase. Your puppy must see your vet within 7 days of purchase. If your vet identifies any health problems with the puppy, we will take the puppy back and refund the purchase price. A written report from the veterinarian must be provided to Ivorymoon. *Ivorymoon guarantees the sire and dam have been certified clear of hip and elbow dysplasia, hypothyroidism, cardiac and eye conditions by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). Ivorymoon will supply copies of such certifications and pedigrees to the puppy's new owners. *Ivorymoon will be available to provide the new owner with guidance and advice in regard to the puppy at any time within the dog's lifespan. We are committed to helping you and your puppy become a happy family! *Ivorymoon will provide the new owner with record of wormings and vaccinations completed and suggested vaccination protocol to follow in the future. *Ivorymoon will provide new owners with our favorite puppy raising book and a resource booklet prior to actual placement. *Ivorymoon puppies are whelped and raised in our home with lots of early socialization, crate training and beginning house training. We employ socializing techniques recommended by Dr. Carmen Battaglia, Pat Schaap, Pat Hastings and Suzanne Clothier. These stimulation and socialization techniques have been shown to positively impact the health and temperament of puppies. *Ivorymoon will also perform structural and temperament testing on each puppy. This helps us determine which puppy is best suited to which potential new family. |
| Pet/Companion Puppies: *not eligible for the conformation ring *are eligible to compete in performance events like agility, rally obedience, obedience, and possibly lure coursing. *are sold with AKC Limited Registrations and will NOT be bred (limited registration dogs ARE purebred dogs fully recognized by the AKC for performance events. The "limited" part only means that any puppies produced by that dog, cannot & will not be recognized by the AKC) *must be spayed/neutered by the time they are 1 year old (once proof of spay/neuter is provided to Ivorymoon, co-ownership will be removed) |
| Show/Companion Puppies: *intended to compete in the conformation ring (if you do not have show experience, Ivorymoon will be happy to show the puppy for you or assist finding a handler in your area) *are eligible to compete in performance events like agility, rally obedience, obedience and lure coursing. *are sold on co-ownership with Ivorymoon *will not be bred without completion of health certifications and other criteria specified in our show/breeding contract. |
| New Owners Agree to: *Provide an indoor home for the entire life of the puppy *Provide annual veterinary checkups, heartworm check and preventatives, and keep all vaccinations current according to AVMA guidelines or titer equivalent. *Never allow the dog to roam where it may endanger itself or become a nuisance to others. *Complete a puppy socialization/kindergarten class AND at least one basic family dog obedience class with the puppy, by the time the puppy is 1 year old. *Never resell, give away, trade, lease, donate or raffle the puppy. *If for ANY reason and at ANY time, the new owner is not able to keep the dog and maintain the care requirements previously stated, the dog will be returned to Ivorymoon. Ivorymoon makes a lifelong commitment to the puppies we've bred. |
