| Ivorymoon consists of myself, Sarah Hartwig, my husband, Shawn (aka "the dog spoiler") & our four female Ridgebacks. My life with Ridgebacks began in 1997 with Dempsey. Dempsey was acquired from Kate Borst of Jabulani RR's. Like most people that stumble into "the dog world", I only wanted a "pet quality" dog to bump around with & be my buddy. I certainly didn't have time or money for dog shows or performance competitions! Well, fast forward a few years, Dempsey & I had earned multiple titles, rankings and honors. Dempsey & I accomplished it all together -- all "owner handled". After 11 wonderful years, we had to say goodbye to Dempsey. However, all the lessons & priorities we learned through her continue to live on: *Ivorymoon places a priority on temperament; measured by the temperament testing and early neurological stimulation begun at birth & extending to careful consideration in our adult breeding dogs. *Ivorymoon places a priority in FULL health testing (OFA certification for): Hip & Elbow Dysplasia Cardiac disorders CERF testing for inheritable eye disorders Thyroid conditions Degenerative Myelopathy *Ivorymoon also enthusiastically supports & participates in ALL venues of RR competition to prove the temperament & correct structural health of our dogs. Whether it's the show ring, obedience, rally obedience, agility, lure coursing or tracking; they all take mental & physical wellbeing for a dog to perform.
